Using Biometrics Eye Localization with an Iris Based Authentication System

چکیده

The security has become a major issue of concern among the people. Biometrics is automated method of identifying a person based on physiological or behavioural characteristics. Threat starts when an unwanted person tries to obtain access. A person authentication system localizes facial landmarks and extracts biometrical features for face authentication. This includes image acquisition, segmentation, normalization, template generation and matching. Databases of biometrical features around the eye area of clients are constructed. The accuracy of the segmentation process plays a major role in the performance of the iris recognition system. Segmentation is performed by identifying the required region from the acquired image. Image has to be smoothened to improve the accuracy. Noise present in the image is to be removed by using specific filters. This segmented image is to be normalized and Feature extraction takes place. The output of feature extraction will be in the form of bit template which will be compared to find for a match.
